The user-friendly astrophotography revolution continues. Introducing the new DSI II. It combines ease-of-use with a larger chip, greater sensitivity, higher resolution, and dramatically lower thermal noise. Meade engineers have invented a remarkable new way to reduce noise without a cooler. This means you can take exposures for hours at a time. And the new thermal monitoring sensors automatically match your dark frames to ambient temperature so it’s nearly impossible to take an un-calibrated picture. The software includes a new zoom feature for easier focusing and the squared pixels of the new larger chip make processing simpler and images more beautiful than ever. The DSI II is the world’s first un-cooled camera with low thermal noise. The Deep Sky Imager II boasts a 1/2-Inch Color Sony CCD sensor. The Deep Sky Imager PRO II has a 1/2-Inch Monochrome Sony CCD sensor. Achieve fast one-shot color images with the Deep Sky Imager II. With the greater sensitivity of the monochrome chip, go deeper with the Deep Sky Imager PRO II, and achieve greater detail with the CCD color filter set. High Sensitivity (1/2-Inch) CCD Sensor from Sony.

First Images From WISE - The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer

First Pictures From WISE Spacecraft - The NASA/JPL Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer. --- Please subscribe to: • www.YouTube.com • www.YouTube.com --- The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, will scan the entire sky in infrared light, picking up the glow of hundreds of millions of objects and producing millions of images. The mission will uncover objects never seen before, including the coolest stars, the universe's most luminous galaxies and some of the darkest near-Earth asteroids and comets. Its vast catalogs will help answer fundamental questions about the origins of planets, stars and galaxies, and provide a feast of data for astronomers to munch on for decades to come. Thanks to next-generation technology, WISE's sensitivity is hundreds of times greater than its predecessor, the Infrared Astronomical Satellite, which operated in 1983. WISE will join two other infrared missions in space -- NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope and the Herschel Space Observatory, a European Space Agency mission with important NASA participation. WISE is different from these missions in that it will survey the entire sky. It is designed to cast a wide net to catch all sorts of unseen cosmic treasures, including rare oddities. The closest of WISE's finds will be near-Earth objects, both asteroids and comets, with orbits that come close to crossing Earth's path. The mission is expected to find hundreds of these bodies, and hundreds of thousands of additional asteroids in our solar ...

Mirror Grinding - Diamond Curve Generating Machine

hubach.deviantart.com This is my father's garage where he is currently working on his telescope hobby. The Diamond curve generating machine in this video is grinding a 16' mirror blank. The purpose of this machine is to generate a curve into the mirror using homemade grinding tools, a diamond saw. The saw is a 4' diamond saw blade. The turnbuckles, when tightened will bend the high chromium, high carbon "spring steel" steel. The machine uses a parts washer pump circulating the water runoff as a cooling agent & prevents dust & cools the blade while grinding. The machine is working perfectly. The design of the machine is a homemade idea created by David Hubach. Any questions feel free to contact Hubach88@gmail.com, Frogshark40@gmail.com OR Message this YouTube account. The design is reproducible and is open to the public. Any questions regarding the design email the above accounts.

Casting Aluminum w/ Homemade Furnace

Here I am casting a part for a Crayford Style Focuser to be used with a 8" Newtonian telescope I'm building. I'm using a propane furnace, a graphite crucible, and the "mold" is a tin soup can. I need a stock of aluminum about 3" in dia. Before you say it, I know it is not safe to cast metal with flip-flops and shorts, but it's the middle of summer in Phoenix here...

5 Tips for Sharp digiscoping - Hippos in Isimangaliso St Lucia Wetland Park

Five things to consider when wanting to get sharp digiscoping photos: 1. Get good focus - use the optical viewfinder of a DSLR or macro autofocus of a compact camera. 2. Understand your camera settings - use ISO and Aperture setting to get photos with low noise (low ISO) and with a wide open aperture (smallest f number in Aperture Priority mode) to get the fastest shutter speed possible for those conditions. 3. Use a remote release of countdown timer - anything that lets you reduce the shake of the camera will improve the sharpness of the images taken with the digiscoping setup 4. Use a stable platform - carbonfibre tripods are light and dampen vibrations effectively. If you are using a tripod, make sure you use a telescope balance rail as adding the weight to the back of the telescope tends to pull the whole setup out of balance and introduce/accentuate camera shake. Even better than a tripod is a Bean Bag. These are very easy to make and - filled with beans, rice or corn - make excellent vibration-dampening camera/telescope supports. 5. Use good quality optics - photographers have been saying this for decades: buy good quality lenses first, and then think about upgrading your camera body. Applied to digiscoping, the quality of the image coming through your scope will largely determine the quality of the image you are able to get out of your digiscoping setup.

±1±: Best Buy After reading many reviews and studies of this telescope for 3 days, I decided to buy this telescope, mainly because of the price (which is 89.95 yuan, free shipping). I received it 2 days earlier than I was Amazon, excellent, this is a newer version of the Celestron website photo. Assembly is easy, but it is my research funding, while waiting for delivery. As in other areas of the discoverer of the review is nonsense, I did not give it 5 stars. EQ installation requiredSome habits, if you have never used one before. Once the alignment tracking is a breeze. The first object I looked at I think is a very bright star, it was originally Jupiter and its satellites 4. Load, and is very sturdy tripod is set up correctly, everything is tightened and secured properly. I use all the accessories, and can see 3 times more detailed combination of Barlow and 4mm Jupiter, even though a lot of light pollution where I amLocated in the city. While the focus in the high rate is difficult, the smallest vibration, while the track is very clear. This is a good first scope, I want to enjoy more than an hour with my son. on Sale!
